Comedy » Parody/Spoof A comedy film which spoofs traditional genres or a specific film, poking fun at its conventions or plotlines. The makers of these film types expect audiences to understand the well-established cliches and archetypes that are therein ridiculed with inside jokes and broad strokes. The James Bond series of novels and films has been parodied numerous times in a number of different media, including books, comics, films, games, and television shows. Most notable of all these parodies is the 1967 spoof Casino Royale, which was produced using the actual film rights purchased from Ian Fleming over a decade prior to its release.

It spoofs over 30 movies without doing anything particularly inspired with any of them. Primarily, it’s a spoof of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Meet the Parents, which are both well-made romantic comedies as it is. All the directors did was copy the jokes from that movie and give them a more scatological bent.
